Welcome to Troop Mahjong, a social, stylish and fun way to play American Mahjong that’s all about connection, celebration, and community. Troop Mahjong is a social club that combines American mahjong with themed events, friendship, and community for women. It was founded by Kristel Powell in her hometown of San Antonio, TX with inspiration from the movie Troop Beverly Hills. The group offers a variety of activities, including social gatherings, themed parties, tournaments, leagues, and educational sessions, and has even started a “Chapter Leader Program” to expand its reach across the country. As the Raleigh, NC Chapter Leader and owner of Mahj Styled, I’m thrilled to bring this unique experience to our region!
Troop Mahjong is more than simply gathering for gameplay. It’s:
- Regular meetups of local players who enjoy the game, the company, and the atmosphere.
- A chance to learn and level up, whether you’re brand-new or already a seasoned player.
- A beautifully styled event: we combine the charm of mahjong with the aesthetics of conscious entertaining.
- A community of folks who come together, hand by hand, sticker by sticker, laugh by laugh.
